Meet The Elected Chapter Delegates

My professional involvement began as a student when I attended the 2012 ASRT Student to Leadership Development Program and served as a student intern for the Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists. I am currently in my second term as president of the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists. Previously, I served as president-elect, board member and board chair for the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists. I have also served on the board of the GSRT as secretary. I participated in the ASRT Leadership Academy and Online Advocacy Academy. For 2022-2023, I served as delegate of the Cardiac Interventional and Vascular Interventional Chapter and as chapter chair for 2023-2024.

If elected to represent the chapter again, I want to work to better engage our chapter members in discussions. I want to use the ASRT Communities and have some Zoom roundtables for members. There are a lot of extremely knowledgeable technologists out there and a lot of people who are training or new to the modalities. I want to really work to connect those two groups to propel our chapter and profession forward.

I have been a registered radiologic technologist for 14 years, working in radiography and vascular interventional. Three years ago, I transitioned to education and have had the opportunity to instruct multiple courses in the cardiovascular interventional curriculum and serve as the cardiovascular interventional clinical coordinator. I have created course work specifically related to research and pathology prevalent in the cardiovascular interventional field. I have been a volunteer for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists vascular interventional committee for several years. I am an Arkansas Society of Radiologic Technologists board member and serve on the membership and policy and procedures committees.

As a chapter delegate, I will stay up to date on all vascular interventional issues and stay active on the ASRT Cardiac Interventional & Vascular Interventional Community. I will be available to answer any questions regarding cardiovascular interventional radiography via email or community boards.

I have experience as a computed tomography technologist in clinic and hospital environments and understand the distinct requirements of each setting. Throughout my career, I've been engaged with state and national affiliates, ensuring I remain updated on local and nationwide issues. My involvement has led me to roles such as chair of the Wyoming Society of Radiologic Technologists and ASRT Computed Tomography Chapter delegate, and I've also taken part in numerous leadership academies provided by the ASRT. Given my comprehensive volunteer and professional background, I am confident in my capabilities to meet and support the qualifications and demands of this role.

If elected as a chapter delegate, I pledge to keep our members informed and engaged on key issues impacting our practice area. I will regularly communicate through ASRT Communities, emails and other preferred methods, updating members on the newest trends, best practices and imminent changes. Additionally, I'll liaise with the ASRT to stay abreast of wider issues potentially affecting CT and ensure our chapter remains informed.

I have watched computed tomography evolve through working in CT departments for 22 years! During my career, I have worked as a technologist aide, a technologist, an educator, and a supervisor, and I now manage a large CT department in Columbus, Ohio. I am proud to work in this modality and passionate about the examinations we perform for our patients. I have volunteered with the profession since I was a student and my heart is in helping, wherever that may lead. I appreciate the opportunities I have had to grow my volunteer experience with the ASRT, the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission – CT, Image Gently and the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Seeking updated practice information through my current role in CT, communicating with other technologists, attending conferences and connecting with ASRT Practice Standards staff are crucial to being able to provide information at all. The information would then need to go out via the ASRT Communities, email or even social media to make sure we are communicating in a variety of ways to all technologists.

I currently serve the profession by teaching the next generation of computed tomography technologists. Before entering academia, I worked as a lead CT technologist at a regional hospital for 14 years. Now academia is my primary focus, but I still occasionally moonlight as a CT technologist when needed. CT is an all-encompassing, fast-paced modality with evolving protocols. I honestly believe if I talk the talk then I need to walk the walk. I am currently serving as the ASRT Computed Tomography Chapter chair and delegate, and I just finished serving on the ASRT Computed Tomography Curriculum Workgroup. Other volunteer efforts include participating in the ASRT Online Advocacy Academy and serving as the president-elect of my state affiliate, the Arkansas Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Having participated in the ASRT Online Advocacy Academy, I feel better prepared for the roles and responsibilities of advocacy. I have started implementing these skills in my state affiliate, but I believe the same skills can be applied to the CT delegate position. In advocacy, key components are communication and transparency. The ASRT Communities is a wonderful opportunity to do both. I check the Computed Tomography Community at least once a week to see what issues are being discussed among CT technologists. As a delegate, I believe it is best for me to listen and take problematic issues to the ASRT House of Delegates. Then, for professional transparency and to provide updates, I can continue the discussion in the Computed Tomography Community.

I have been a computed tomography technologist for 13 years, and I have been deeply honored to spend the most recent seven years caring for our nation's heroes at the Robert J. Dole Veteran Affairs Medical Center. If elected, this would be my third opportunity to serve as a Computed Tomography Chapter delegate to the ASRT House of Delegates. At the affiliate level, I previously served as the Kansas Society of Radiologic Technologists’ president-elect, president, past president and chair of the board, as well as secretary-treasurer. I have been the editor and publisher of The Rotating Anode, the KSRT’s quarterly. I recently took over KSRT’s website maintenance duties.

I believe the ASRT Communities are a valuable tool for disseminating information to chapter members as well as a good place to discuss practice elements, such as how different facilities handled the iodinated contrast shortage a couple of years ago.

I have been a dedicated educator and radiologic technologist since 2009. I hold certifications in general radiography, computed tomography and imaging informatics. I am the director of the radiologic sciences program and an associate professor of diagnostic imaging at Quinnipiac University. I have served in a variety of roles in higher education and as the director of training for the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine. My responsibilities have included academic and administrative functions across the radiologic sciences and the imaging informatics profession and have led to my current tenure-track appointment. Academia is “home.” It encompasses the environment and work that sparks joy in my life and career every day. Service is an integral part of advancing the profession. I serve on the ASRT Radiologic Technology Editorial Review Board, and I am a second alternate Education Chapter delegate. I also serve on the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences Board of Directors as president-elect and am a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology site visitor. Additionally, I serve on the American Board of Imaging Informatics’ specialty certification task force and SIIM’s education committee.

My passion for education, lifelong learning and patient-centered care is the fuel that drives my career and desire to elevate education in the radiologic sciences. Since 2015, I have shared this passion by helping the profession gain understanding of the significant connections between what we do as radiologic technologists and how informatics significantly affect patient-centered care. If elected as an Education Chapter delegate, I will ensure that chapter members are regularly informed and stay up to date on issues affecting their practice area through various methods of dissemination, such as the ASRT Communities, email and presentations.

I am proud to be nominated for ASRT Education Chapter delegate. The path that brought me to education in radiologic technology was through the ASRT when I was selected to participate in the ASRT's Student to Leadership Development Program. There, I was introduced to the incredible leadership of the ASRT and the profession. Since that point, I have become more involved in my state society, the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists. Having reached the pinnacle of our state leadership by serving as president and chair of the board, I am ready to take on greater challenges. I have been a radiographer and computed tomography technologist for more than 10 years, and I have been teaching radiologic technology for more than eight years. I enjoy serving my community and my profession, and I hope to continue to grow in my knowledge of our profession and its societies through this service.

Being an educator is such a fulfilling job in our profession, and I believe that it is our responsibility to our students - the future of our profession - the skills they need for success. As an Education Chapter delegate, I intend to do my best to preserve the interests of radiologic sciences educators, our students, and ultimately our profession. I plan to communicate with chapter members and educators through means provided by the ASRT, such as the ASRT Communities, social media outlets, and for more urgent issues, email blast services. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

I have served in the ASRT House of Delegates several times and am very familiar with the procedure of the House. As an educator for over 35 years, I value multiple points of view and I believe that the primary function of discussion and conversation is to learn, not to express opinion. As evidenced in 2022’s House of Delegates meeting, much is to be gained by listening and learning from each other. I think that we are approaching pivotal crossroads within medical imaging and radiologic science education, and the value of listening and consensus are imperative. I have collegial relationships with educators throughout the United States and would like to use this network to best serve our profession, our students, and our patients.

If elected as an Education Chapter Delegate, I will actively engage in communication via the chapter Communities page. I will post issues for discussion and regularly communicate any follow-up information or feedback.

I have been a radiologic technologist for 29 years. I have taught magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and radiography for the past 19 years. I keep abreast of changing technology, imaging and safety issues through targeted activities and participating in various communities. I have served as president, president-elect, vice president and senior board member for the Indiana Society of Radiologic Technologists and have held many other leadership positions on ISRT committees. As a member of the ASRT Practice Standards Council and past member of the Committee on Bylaws, I have participated in the review of the Practice Standards for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy and ASRT Bylaws. I have excellent advocacy skills and a strong voice to speak out about issues that concern the profession. Fostering a community that shares information, ideas and best practices is important to grow as radiology educators. I am motivated by the challenge and look forward to representing educators and the practice of teaching.

My professional engagements and my avid reading of radiology research have always served as a platform for my continuing development. They will also serve as a resource to share with my fellow colleagues if I am elected as an Education Chapter delegate. I will advocate for the use of the ASRT Communities, so educators can network together on issues they are facing. The Communities are also a resource to stay on top of issues facing educators. To find common practices and solutions, it is important for educators to engage with each other. I would be honored to represent and advocate for issues that concern education and educators.

I have been in medical imaging since 2003, starting in general radiography and advancing into magnetic resonance imaging in 2006. Since 2006, I have been an active MRI technologist, performing basic and advanced MRI procedures in inpatient and outpatient settings. I specialize primarily in optimizing protocols, serving as the MRI safety officer, and training new hires and students. In 2010, I had the privilege of becoming a clinical coordinator and faculty member for California State University, Northridge. Over the years, I have taught courses in medical imaging, pathophysiology, research methods, computed tomography and patient care. Through my work as an educator, I have had the opportunity to update curriculum at the university and national levels, specialize in program assessment, and serve as a valuable member of the program review team. Even though I have transitioned to the educational environment, I remain a part-time MRI technologist, bridging the gap between education and clinical experience.

As a chapter delegate, I would use the ASRT Communities, collaborate with colleagues across the U.S. and work with ASRT to provide updates that can be sent out to members via email.

I am a practicing magnetic resonance imaging technologist at a busy, urban level I trauma center, so I live the issues that MRI technologists face every day. It's important to me to advocate for our profession and maintain current skills so I can serve my patients to the best of my ability. I have accomplished this by being an active ASRT member and also being active at the state level with the Ohio Society of Radiologic Technologists, as well as serving as a director of the board for the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety and as a moderator for the 28,000-member MRI Safety Facebook group.

Many technologists are not aware of the ASRT Magnetic Resonance Community. Our chapter should ensure that members are aware of the Community and participate in sharing information there. It's important for delegates to initiate discussion and follow up with members' questions. This is an excellent way to disseminate information quickly to a large audience.

I have more than a decade of experience working as a magnetic resonance imaging technologist at the largest hospital in Nevada. Additionally, I've spent five years as an MR educator at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I have a deep understanding of the challenges that MR technologists face in their daily work. While some problems are beyond our control, there are specific issues I'd like to address in the role of Magnetic Resonance Chapter delegate. I aim to leverage my position as a chapter delegate to collaborate with the ASRT in developing an advisory opinion concerning the scope of practice for MR technologists, particularly in relation to programming devices like pacemakers and defibrillators. Furthermore, I'd like to work closely with both the ASRT and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to advocate for changes in the MR postprimary requirements. It's worth noting that postprimary candidates can become board-eligible in as little as three weeks. As both an educator and technologist, I've witnessed instances where candidates obtained their ARRT MR certification through accelerated programs but lacked the necessary skills to perform MR scans upon employment. This situation is unfair to candidates, employers and, most importantly, patients. It not only diminishes the value of our credentials but also undermines the integrity of our profession. In addition, I'd like to further investigate remote scanning best practices. We need to find ways to provide remote scanning services while maintaining patient safety.

If elected, I will be active in online forums such as the ASRT Communities and MR Facebook groups. I will engage chapter members at local and national conferences.

I am very passionate about radiology because I have been involved in many aspects of leadership. It is always important to develop a passion among working technologists so they stay well informed on current technologies in the profession. I was honored to attend the ASRT Student to Leadership Development program in 2015. Since I became a radiologic technologist, I have been committed to my job and to my responsibilities with the ASRT and other organizations. I am grateful to have experienced chances to network with many R.T.s and with students during the ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates meeting, where I served as a mentor and a sergeant-at-arms member. Therefore, I understand the governance structure and how the ASRT works and its relationship to other organizations. I am also an active member of the Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologists.

If I were given the opportunity to represent the Magnetic Resonance Chapter as a delegate, my focus would be on safety. In fact, safety in MR is the main issue facing patients and other health care professionals in the MR suite. Since challenges are rising daily, the first thing I would do as a delegate is help solve these issues by implementing and following departmental and hospital policies in accordance with the American College of Radiology and the Joint Commission guidelines. Because safety in patient care needs to be taken into consideration, I will motivate my fellow R.T.s to be advocates for patient safety. This motivation can happen via communication on social media, discussion during shift hand over or departmental meetings, and through implementation of the ASRT white paper on MRI safety.

I am passionate about breast health and everything that it encompasses. Being a mammographer is one of my greatest privileges because I connect with so many amazing mammographers and wonderful patients. I have been a mammographer for more than 13 years and am currently a mammography supervisor. For the past six years, I have been fortunate to work as an adjunct mammography instructor at Weber State University. I love taking what I learn in the clinical setting to the classroom. I am active in the mammography community virtually, as well as with my state affiliate, the Utah Society of Radiologic Technologists. I have served the USRT as delegate and alternate delegate and have spoken multiple times at our annual conference. I have also been president-elect, president and chair of the board of the Utah Society of Mammography Technologists, a subordinate of the USRT. I am active with the ASRT and attended the 2022 ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting as a delegate. I also attended the 2022 ASRT Leadership Academy.

It is important that I have accurate and up-to-date information as a breast center manager and that the information I provide my patients and students is timely and correct. I continually read journal articles and updates regarding breast imaging. If elected as a Mammography Chapter delegate, I will be an active participant in Mammography Community discussions. This is an excellent resource for mammographers to ask questions and stay informed with the latest information and advancements in our practice area. I love the comradery in the discussions, and, if elected, I will be an accessible resource for others. I will come to the House of Delegates meeting ready to listen and be a positive voice for all mammographers.

I have practiced full time as a supervising and lead technologist in mammography for the past 15 and a half years. I have been instrumental in converting two different departments from 2D digital technology to 3D tomosynthesis imaging. I have also been involved in starting stereotactic breast biopsies for two departments. I became a registered and certified mammographer when the first American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exam was offered in the early 1990s. I followed that with a quality management registration and certification. I have trained technologists in mammography. I have served as an ASRT Mammography Chapter delegate and a Quality Management Chapter delegate in the past. I have a bachelor’s in allied health administration from Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia. I have held multiple leadership positions with the West Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologists, including vice president, president, and board chair. I have also been very active with the ASRT.

As a lead mammography technologist at WVU Medicine – Reynolds Memorial Hospital, I am required to stay current within the scope of practice for mammography. I stay informed of technological advancements and new opportunities in mammography. I spoke at the WVSRT annual meeting in 2022 and will speak at upcoming 2023 meetings about mammography topics. If elected as the Mammography Chapter delegate, I will use the ASRT Communities to educate and serve ASRT members. Additionally, I would be honored to serve as a Mammography Chapter delegate leading up to my celebration of being a 50-year member of the ASRT in 2026!

I have worked in radiology for 14 years. I have held an administrative role for the past three years, and prior to that, I was a lead mammographer. I am intimately acquainted with the operations of a mammography department and the requirements to meet federal standards and maintain certification by accrediting bodies. I still perform diagnostic and screening mammograms on a regular basis. I have served as delegate and chapter chair for the ASRT Mammography Chapter, and I thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of representing my fellow mammographers on a national level. I have been the correspondence secretary for the New Hampshire Society of Radiologic Technologists for four years and have worked alongside my colleagues to facilitate legislation requiring licensure for all radiologic technologists in New Hampshire. I have cowritten several ASRT Directed Readings, including an article on breast density. I have also been an item writer for the mammography chapter of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

If elected as a chapter delegate, I will participate in the ASRT Mammography Community to support my fellow mammographers and keep them apprised of the issues affecting our discipline. I will bring the challenges my local colleagues experience to the national level to give them a voice and affect change.

I live in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and have been in our profession since the mid-’80s. I started my career doing radiographs for trauma patients. In 1990, I unexpectedly began my career in mammography. Since that time, I’ve come to realize that this was the practice area I was called to work in. I love what I do and am proud to be a mammographer. I have been very involved in both the Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologists and the ASRT for many years. I have held every position on the VSRT Board of Directors quite a few times and served in many other roles. Although I haven’t served as an officer of the ASRT, I have been a member since the early ’90s. I have been active in several roles, including serving on the ASRT Committee on Nominations and the ASRT Commission and as a Mammography Chapter delegate.

I think the best ways to reach out to my fellow technologists are through the ASRT Communities, social media, and readings and lectures, to name just a few. The Communities are such a great way to reach out to so many in our profession. We can ask and answer questions any time, which is awesome! Having the ability to learn from members in other parts of the country via these means allows us all to grow in our knowledge and skills. If I am elected as a Mammography Chapter delegate, I will make sure that there are, at the least, weekly posts in the Mammography Community. I believe in the importance of keeping the lines of conversation open and flowing because that is the best way to keep everyone informed.

I have been a radiologic technologist for 18 years, with nine served in my current role as a radiology director. I hold American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certifications in radiography, mammography, computed tomography and nuclear medicine. My academic credentials include a master’s in business administration, a bachelor’s in radiologic imaging sciences, an associate in radiologic technology and a diploma of nuclear medicine. I pursued leadership training through a Dale Carnegie immersion course and became a Maxwell Leadership Certified Team member. I served on the ARRT mammography exam committee and mammography standard setting committee and as a mammography item writer. I currently serve as an Arkansas Society of Radiologic Technologists board member. I am a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and I am pursuing health care management board certification. My career goal is to make a difference in the imaging community and to be an influential leader who adds value to those around me.

If elected, I would bring the perspective of rural communities to the table. Currently, many technologists in these communities are not ASRT members. The first step would be to garner participation from this imaging community and encourage membership. When those technologists become members, we would together have a wider reach and a louder voice to ensure that chapter members are aware of issues, both positive and negative, that affect our profession. My various leadership endeavors have provided me with resources, which I will use and share with members. I will stay up to date on regulatory issues and hot topics and share that knowledge so those in leadership positions remain armed with the most current information. I have a passion to grow, and in the process, bring others along with me.

I have been an educator for over 13 years serving as a Program Director and Clinical Coordinator teaching courses in all areas of radiography content. I am currently a Program Director for a radiography program and work in a level one trauma center as part of the leadership team. I previously worked as an Imaging Department Director in a critical access hospital, providing general radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine. I have served the Management Chapter as Vice Chair and Delegate 2020-2022, as the Radiography chair to the PSC and subcommittees, the Best Practices in Radiography White Paper Workgroup 2018 -2019, and Alternate Delegate for the Education and Radiography chapters. I have served the MoSRT in positions including President, Vice President, Affiliate Delegate, and parliamentarian. I develop and present CEU lectures at the MoSRT annual conference and have done so every year since 2007.

There are many means of communication to ensure that chapter members stay up to date on issues. One of the most effective ways to interact with chapter members is through the ASRT Communities pages. Topics of interest or of importance are easily posted, and then discussed amongst chapter members. Other ways to effectively communicate are through the use of surveys and email blasts from the ASRT. I am open and able to reach out and communicate in whatever way is necessary to ensure the work of the chapter gets done.

I have spent my career volunteering for the ASRT in one capacity or another. This organization is the very foundation of our profession and I love it dearly. I spent seven years serving on the ASRT Board of Directors, and served multiple years as a seated delegate, a student mentor and a graduate of both versions of the leadership academies and finally a student intern. You could say that as a technologist I was raised within the ASRT. I have seen this organization grow and evolve and I would like to continue to see it do so.

As a chapter delegate and leader, I would like to see us leverage our size with other radiologic technology organizations to further promote the profession and to find ways to leverage the tools we each have to advance the chapter’s agendas. This year as the chapter chair, I worked with the vice chair and reached out to another radiologic technology organization to partner with us in the creation of a management tool that is needed, but not currently available, in the leadership space. This kind of collaboration will keep our society relevant and growth minded because many of the other organization’s members may not be ASRT members, even though they manage ASRT members or potential members. They need to see and experience our benefits and ASRT needs to see and experience the additional benefits of the other organization. Just as fusion imaging is becoming more commonplace so will cooperation between organizations.

I have served as an affiliate delegate for Wisconsin and as a Management Chapter delegate and chair previously. I have also served on the ASRT Committee on Bylaws and ASRT Committee on Nominations. My current role is in information systems and my clinical background allows me to understand what is important and necessary for end users so they can best serve their patients.

Management is an area where we are all being asked to do more with less and to find innovation and efficiency in a changing health care landscape. Some ways to communicate on priority topics and regulatory changes to leaders in imaging are using the ASRT Communities, offering panel discussions, conducting chapter meetings at ASRT and sending emails. It’s important to find the best way to use the tools at our disposal to make collaboration and information sharing a priority.

I enlisted in the U.S. Army as a 68P - Radiology Specialist in March 2014. I tried to pursue medical imaging as a civilian because of the endless opportunities it offers, but I could not support my family and go to school full time for two years, so I chose radiology as my military occupational specialty. I achieved my radiography certification in 2016. I have held numerous positions including radiation safety officer, radiation protection officer, defense imaging network-picture archiving and communications system administrator, lead technologist, and most recently, military clinical instructor for phase II radiology students. This position has been the most rewarding because it has given me the opportunity to provide a lasting foundation for new technologists entering the profession. The numerous positions that I have held over my tenure have allowed me to understand our practice from top to bottom— from the initial patient introduction all the way to the transmission of images both internally and externally, as well as receiving radiologist reports. Communication on multiple platforms is essential in ensuring chapter members stay up to date on issues affecting our practice area. If elected as a Military Chapter delegate, I will use direct contact, such as email, and social media to achieve this end state.

Throughout the last three plus decades, I have witnessed many changes in health care. As a program director, I have been involved with local health institutions and observed their struggles. I strive to keep my students, my local hospital colleagues, and learning institutions aware of these changes and possible solutions within our industry. I firmly believe that collaboration and communication are key. We have many issues that need to be addressed, and some issues have been ongoing for decades without potentially simple resolutions. I want to be a voice for people who do not have the opportunity to share their concerns, and I can bring a perspective to the conversation that may influence a solution. My dedication to the professional societies I represent is proof that I believe I can affect the future of medical imaging technologists and radiation therapists. I look forward to lending a voice to the ASRT as a chapter delegate at the ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting.

Communication is key to spreading a message. If elected as a Nuclear Medicine Chapter delegate, I will use the ASRT Communities to reach technologists interested in governance changes. I welcome the opportunity to engage in personal and factual dialogue whenever I speak to students, colleagues and interested parties from other institutions. I invite anyone with a concern, opinion or proposal on a current issue to reach out to me. I will bring those concerns to those who are able to discuss solutions. I value every person who takes the time to communicate their point of view. Person-to-person communication is best, but I realize that distance may not allow that to happen. I believe I can affect the future of the industry, and that is the foundation of my professional legacy.

I’m the director of health sciences education at IU Health Methodist Hospital. In my current job, I use many quality management skills for process improvement. My experience as an affiliate and Quality Management Chapter delegate and former officer of the Indiana Society of Radiologic Technologists and the ASRT Boards of Directors has enabled me to better understand the continuing importance of quality management and how it is evolving. I have also served on the ASRT Practice Standards Council and on the Quality Management Subcommittee. Serving in these roles has allowed me to work directly with the Quality Management Practice Standards and also develop a more thorough understanding of quality management throughout all the modalities. With a continued focus on health care, safety and artificial intelligence, I believe effective quality management leadership is essential. I believe my experiences, knowledge and enthusiasm are an excellent combination that qualifies me to work on your behalf.

Collaboration and communication are crucial to ensure that information is disseminated to chapter members. The ASRT Communities offer an ideal platform for discussion regarding issues affecting the profession. I believe it is also important to reach out individually whether by email or phone to respond to questions that individuals may have. Sharing ideas and information is key to helping us all advance our specific practice areas as the profession continues to evolve and change.

I was one of the last groups to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists’ Quality Management exam. I decided to study and learn as much as I could about the quality improvement processes and quality analysis systems in radiology while I was involved in a project at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center to help educate the patients and employees about medical imaging. I was fortunate to have an amazing physicist onsite who agreed to support me in the clinical aspects needed for QM registration and certification. The ARRT QM registration opened more possibilities for me to explore leadership and roles I never expected I could apply for or be fortunate to have. As a result, I’ve been a supervisor of advanced imaging and a lead computed technology technologist, and I’m currently back in clinical CT where I support my goal of working for the patient. During my career, I’ve been the continuing education coordinator for the Vermont Society of Radiologic Technologists. I’ve been an ASRT Computed Tomography Chapter delegate, vice chair, and chair, and I’ve supported the profession by volunteering on multiple ASRT committees. My education has not been traditional – I hold a bachelor’s in art, a master’s in environmental education, a master’s of business administration in leadership and a radiography certification.

If elected as a delegate, I would use the ASRT Communities as the main communication pathway to update radiographers and leaders about issues affecting quality assurance and QM analysis. The greatest aspect of QM is that it’s embedded in every discipline. I would advocate for added library links to help with modality-specific regulatory needs. Those resources would provide departments with go-to resources in a central hub when they’re looking for help with compliance.

Thank you for considering me as your Radiation Therapy Chapter delegate. My educational background includes an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State, radiation therapy training at Memorial Sloan Kettering, a master’s in business administration from Simmons University and a doctorate from Pacific University. Throughout my career, I've served as a radiation therapist, educator and leader, focusing on developing education programs, spearheading research projects and advocating for advanced practice radiation therapists. I'm proud to have co-founded the Radiation Therapy Association of New York State to facilitate collaboration in the northeast. I'm engaged with the ASRT, serving on the ASRT Research Grants and Advisory Panel, mentoring, speaking at the ASRT Radiation Therapy Conference and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. My dedication has been recognized with the ASRT Aiming to Heal Award and the RTANYS President's Award. My overarching career goal is to provide radiation therapists nationwide with the tools and resources they need to succeed in their departments, elevating our profession and patient care.

I recognize the ever-evolving challenges we face as radiation therapists, from licensure laws to emerging technology and beyond. It's critical for delegates to keep therapists informed about these developments. I’m prepared to do so and regularly advocate for therapists. For example, by sharing information via the ASRT Communities regarding encroachment, like the physicist initiative for patient education. My vision involves building strong connections with state societies and individuals nationwide. State societies are the lifeblood of our organization. I aim to leverage platforms like the ASRT Communities, LinkedIn, X, formerly known as Twitter, and conferences to facilitate knowledge exchange and dialogue. I see the chapter delegate as a bridge, facilitating meaningful interactions. My goal is to ensure that radiation therapists’ voices are heard, their concerns addressed and their unique insights integrated into our profession’s ongoing evolution. Together, we will navigate the complex landscape, keeping radiation therapists at the forefront of change.

With two decades of experience in radiation therapy, I've developed an extensive clinical background and contributed to leading oncology programs, which has equipped me with a deep understanding of the sector's clinical and operational demands. My expertise as a subject matter expert has been essential in my current role of integrating state-of-the-art technology into radiation therapy and enhancing patient care and treatment outcomes. My current position has fine-tuned my skills in advancing the profession's technology, directly translating to my ability to represent and advocate for radiation therapists effectively. Additionally, my personal pursuits include leadership in school organizations and a passion for aviation, which reflect my commitment to excellence and continuous development in both my professional and personal life.

If elected as a chapter delegate, I will ensure our members stay abreast of industry changes through transparent communication and education. My committee work with the ASRT, including the R.T. Advocacy Region 3 Subcommittee and the Radiation Therapist Editorial Review Board, underscores my dedication to a collaborative and informed professional community. My mentorship of individuals through the ASRT and the American College of Healthcare Executives reflects my commitment to our profession’s growth and to sustaining our future. I aim to elevate the ASRT to a level of advocacy that rivals leading professional bodies, empowering practitioners to excel in patient care and professional recognition.

Professionally, I have been an active member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and a member of the Radiation Oncology Safety Stakeholders Initiative. Last summer, I coordinated a meeting of radiation therapy and medical dosimetry educators at the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists conference held in New Orleans. I have been a member of my state affiliate, the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists, for 40 years.

Previously, I have been active on the ASRT Radiation Therapy & Medical Dosimetry Community. I also routinely communicate with other radiation therapy program faculty through the radiation therapist list service coordinated through Ohio State University. This is focused on radiation therapy education and has been a valuable tool for communication with other programs. I plan to try and coordinate more affiliate activities for radiation therapists around the state.

Practicing as a radiation therapist and clinical resource specialist is an honor. I am very passionate about my profession and would like the opportunity to represent our profession as a Radiation Therapy Chapter delegate. My career and volunteer opportunities have provided me with the experience, skills and knowledge to fulfill the responsibilities of a Radiation Therapy Chapter delegate. I have held many positions on professional boards and committees at the state and national levels. I believe volunteering for any position that supports our medical imaging and radiation therapy profession is a part of growing personally and professionally. I know the importance of communication and responding in a timely manner to matters and questions. I can provide constructive feedback to authors, am willing to learn about any existing research, think critically, be a mentor, and understand the importance of confidentiality. Outside of my profession, I mentor school-age young ladies to ride bikes and to build real-world skills, and I volunteer for an adaptive rock-climbing group for athletes with mobility or cognitive challenges.

As an ASRT member serving on the ASRT Committee on R.T. Advocacy Region 3 Subcommittee and a member of the Colorado stakeholder radiation committee, I have resources to keep me up to date on issues affecting medical imaging and radiation therapy. If elected, I will communicate via all forms of communication to update members on issues affecting their practices. I will offer guidance on the steps we need to take to protect and take care of the issues affecting their practice. I will also ask for assistance from the professional network that the ASRT provides to ensure that the issues are taken care of in a timely manner. I will also ask that members get involved in the ASRT Communities to share concerns and communicate with our professional network.

I have been the Radiography Chapter delegate and chair previously. I feel that I am very well qualified for the delegate position. I have been a radiologic technologist for the last 51 years. I served on the ASRT Board of Directors during the 2017-2018 and 2020-2021 terms. I have also served on the Indiana Society of Radiologic Technologists Board of Directors for eight years. I am dedicated to patient care and committed to promoting the well-being of medical imaging professionals. I am also committed to advancing the ASRT’s goals and the mission.

Communication will be the key to ensuring that chapter members are up to date on issues that might affect them. It’s important to make sure all members are informed about any advocacy efforts or legislative changes that will also affect their practice. I will provide resources and guidance on how they can get involved in advocating for their profession and stay updated on relevant policies. I will also encourage chapter members to share their experiences, insights and best practices with each other, thus creating a supportive and knowledge-sharing community.

I received my associate in radiologic sciences from Itawamba Community College in 2014 and furthered my education with a bachelor’s in radiologic sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2021. I worked as a registered radiologic technologist in a level II trauma center in Tupelo, Mississippi, for four years before transferring to a clinic in my hometown to perform diagnostic imaging and laboratory work. I have been involved with the Mississippi Society of Radiologic Technologists since 2014, serving in various positions such as rules and bylaws chair, membership chair and vice president. I currently serve as MSRT president and conference committee chair. In 2021, I was honored to be elected by my peers as MSRT Technologist of the Year. I have not held any position with the ASRT but serving our profession on the national level would be a great honor.

The ASRT Communities is a powerful platform that ASRT has provided its members to help connect us and keep us current on various issues. I personally receive emails daily from multiple ASRT forums, and they are all extremely educational. I stay informed about what is going on in our profession and I gain insight into the views and opinions of fellow technologists. I will use the ASRT Communities to ensure chapter members stay up to date on issues affecting our profession and encourage engagement within the group. I will also share the information that I learn with my co-workers and fellow technologists of the MSRT.

I am a passionate radiographer and have practiced solely in radiography for 22 years. Although I have been in higher education for many years, I maintain my practice on a supplemental basis, which allows me to relate educational lessons to clinical experience for the future of our profession. I have always loved diagnostic radiography and the challenges that come with it. I have served previously as the ASRT Radiography Chapter delegate and have held numerous leadership positions with my state affiliate, the Indiana Society of Radiologic Technologists. I have also served as an item writer for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and as a member of the ASRT Scanner Editorial Advisory Panel. I have experience as a meeting partner for the ASRT Student to Leadership Development Program, and I have given numerous educational lectures at conferences. I also engage in research and scholarship to further enhance and elevate our profession and to provide ideas that spark technologists to do more, learn more and be more than "just a tech."

As an engaged ASRT member, I regularly review the ASRT Communities and respond to posts directed toward me or that I have knowledge to contribute to. I value quality rather than quantity of posts. I feel that the Radiography Chapter does a decent job of communicating and sharing knowledge through the Communities. If elected as a delegate, I will work to engage more members in pertinent and timely discussions to promote and elevate our chapter. As an educator, I am involved in multiple professional organizations and have the capacity to stay on top of trending issues for the profession. Our profession is always full of ideas, but sometimes we simply need someone to start the conversation. The ASRT Communities can be used to further develop ideas into tangible actions, without adding excess noise to the conversation.

I have seven years of experience as a radiologic technologist. I worked for five years in human medicine taking radiographs and performing computed tomography imaging and two years in veterinary medicine taking radiographs and performing CT, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine examinations on small and large animals. I have been on the Iowa Society of Radiologic Technologists Board of Directors for six years, holding the offices of junior executive chair, president, president-elect, 1st vice president and 2nd vice president. I have been the Iowa delegate and an alternate delegate at the ASRT House of Delegates Meeting. I was accepted into the ASRT Student to Leadership Development Program in 2016 and attended the Leadership Academy in 2022.

If elected as a Radiography Chapter delegate, I will ensure chapter members remain informed about practice area issues. I will promote regular communication through a dedicated email newsletter and social media platforms to notify members of relevant news, updates, and resources. Also, I will encourage the use of interactive platforms like online forums, discussion boards and the ASRT communities where members can share insights and ask questions. Lastly, I will conduct surveys to gauge members’ needs and insights regarding use of the various platforms in an effort to get more members involved. By executing these goals, I will contribute to the growth of a well-informed and engaged chapter community.

I received my radiology practitioner assistant certification in 2005, after graduating from Weber State University. I received my registered radiologist assistant certification in 2007. I have been an ASRT member since 2000, and I have served on many ASRT grassroots committees and on the ASRT Committee on R.T. Advocacy in Ohio, Missouri and currently in Maryland. I have lobbied for the CARE bill and the Medicare Access to Radiology Care Act, better known as MARCA, and I have spoken to affiliates in North Carolina, Ohio, Missouri, and Maryland and to the legislative representatives from those states.

Over the past year, I have presented lectures on the radiologist assistant position and its benefits in Egypt and Thailand and will present in Dubai in November 2023. I recently presented a research project at the High Value Practice Academic Alliance annual conference regarding RA satisfaction in the pediatric division of an academic institution. One of my overall goals is to market our awesome RA profession and its benefits. To obtain further recognition, we need continued education of the public and health care professionals. I have been fortunate enough to market our profession at multiple venues locally, nationally and internationally. If elected as a Radiologist Assistant Chapter delegate, I will take every opportunity to keep chapter members up to date on legislative issues and other current activities that might impact us. I will also continue lobbying for recognition for radiology practitioner assistants and registered radiologist assistants, especially at the state and national levels.

I believe I am qualified to represent the Radiologist Assistant Chapter as a delegate because I am a practicing radiologist assistant who is engaged with the profession. I keep up with research on the ever-evolving interventional radiography practice area and continue to learn new tips and tricks on fluoroscopic examinations. Additionally, I am an advocate for the profession on several podcasts as well as through scholarly publishing. I have greatly enjoyed my time serving the ASRT on the Committee on R.T. Advocacy Region 4 and being a member of the ASRT Practice Standards Council. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve the radiologist assistant community and to help advance the profession.

I would use the ASRT Communities to inform chapter members of issues affecting our practice. Additionally, I would use other aspects of social media to inform members and help spread the word on issues if urgent action was required. The radiologist assistant community is small but mighty and we know how to "rally the troops" to support a cause when needed.

I am a practicing radiologist assistant and have been since 2006. I have volunteered and held several different appointments with the ASRT, including serving as an alternate delegate for the Registered Radiologist Assistant Chapter and chair of the ASRT Committee on R.T. Advocacy. I have also served as a trustee on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Board of Trustees.

The radiologist assistant job outlook has gotten better, but there are many student radiographers who are unaware of who we are. During the last ASRT House of Delegates meeting, some of the students who attended our chapter meeting were not aware of the RA’s role in radiology. We need, as a chapter, to implant a plan to disseminate information to schools and technologists. We will use the ASRT Communities and our connections with RA organizations and come up with an efficient way to get the message out to technologists who are not ASRT members and to ASRT members who are not involved. We’ll encourage them to consider the radiologist assistant position as a career advancement.

Here are several reasons why I believe I am the perfect candidate. I have 19 years of radiology experience as a student, technologist aid, technologist, professor and radiologist assistant. I am always on the lookout for advancements and best practices in radiology. I have a collaborative spirit and believe in teamwork, and I understand the importance of building bridges between RAs, radiologists, technologists and other health care professionals. Throughout my career, I've seen firsthand the evolving role of RAs and the challenges we face. I am passionate about advocating for the growth and recognition of our profession, ensuring that our contributions to patient care are acknowledged and supported. I envision a future where RAs are not only recognized for their expertise but also play a pivotal role in shaping health care policies, procedures and guidelines. I am the treasurer of the Society of Radiology Physician Extenders and have been involved in several committees and initiatives.

If elected, I would work diligently to ensure that our profession's voice is heard and respected. I would ensure that members stay informed on current issues which are paramount for the RA’s growth and evolution. I would facilitate this using ASRT Communities and other social media platforms to disseminate information quickly, share events and interact with members on personal accounts. I would like to have meetings where members can discuss concerns and ask questions. In conclusion, my passion for the profession combined with my clinical expertise, advocacy efforts and vision for the future make me a strong candidate for the ASRT Radiologist Assistant Chapter delegate position.

I have been a program director for a medical imaging technology program, worked as a staff sonographer in hospital and clinic settings, been an applications specialist for Siemens, and tutored students online in preparation for the registry exams. I have served on the ASRT Practice Standards Council as vice chair and chair. I have led several ASRT Practice Standards revisions. I am currently serving as an ASRT representative on the practice standards revision committee for the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Finally, I have been honored to represent the Sonography Chapter as a delegate for several years.

If elected, I will continue to read articles and publications pertaining to medical imaging and radiation therapy, particularly to sonography. As I obtain pertinent information, I will continue to post it on the ASRT Communities as well as on social media. I do count on my sonography friends and colleagues to also send information to me as well as questions about our practice area. If I do not know the answer, I am always happy to research the topic and post in the ASRT Sonography Community. Further, questions can always be sent directly to my email account.

I have been a sonographer for the past 27 years. I have been fortunate to work in a variety of capacities and feel that I have gained invaluable experience along the way. I currently serve as a clinical assistant professor in a sonography program where I have the privilege of educating those who will be carrying our profession into the future. I have been an ASRT member for the past 11 years and have previously served as the Sonography Chapter delegate. I would be honored to do so again. In addition to my work with the ASRT, I am also an active member of the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, where I serve on the nominating committee and act as a CME reviewer. I am also an active member of my state affiliate society, the Indiana Society of Radiologic Technologists, where I served on the board of directors for a total of nine years. In addition to my professional work, I serve on the board of directors for a local organization called Little Lambs. Our mission is to build a community of healthy and safe children by partnering with parents and community caregivers to provide essential care for babies and young children.

If elected, I will use ASRT services to send email blasts regarding timely and important topics to chapter constituents. I will stay active in networking and engagement with local members of the sonography community to stay in touch with the needs and issues facing sonographers. I will be an active member of the ASRT Sonography Community, using this resource to ask and answer questions of fellow sonographers.

I have been a member of ASRT since 2004, and my experience working for various organizations, including ASRT and the Alaska Society of Radiologic Technologists, has allowed me to hone my talents and meet people from different areas. I am a member of the Idaho Society of Radiologic Technologists and work as a sonographer and clinical coordinator at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Boise, Idaho. I have served on different ASRT committees, such as the ASRT Practice Standards Council Sonography Subcommittee, House of Delegates Minutes Approval Committee, and ASRT Committee on R.T. Advocacy, and I attended the ASRT Leadership Academy. My experience on these committees has allowed me to understand our members' needs and contribute to making positive changes.

As professionals, we need representation and to be heard so we can make positive changes and provide valuable staff perspectives. I believe that the ASRT is a solid source for getting information out to our members and using it to its full potential is essential. Ultrasound keeps evolving, and with technological advances, protocols and standards must also change. Continuing education, certifications and adaptability to changes in protocols and procedures can be challenging. Therefore, if elected as a Sonography Chapter delegate, I will focus on recruiting more sonographers to join ASRT. In conclusion, I humbly solicit your vote to serve our growing community by representing our members and addressing their concerns. The ASRT Sonography Chapter offers much to sonographers nationwide, and I am confident that, with your support, we can make a positive impact. I appreciate your consideration.
